Eva's night

Eva's awake and in mildly good spirits.

She had a tough night, because she couldn't keep the pain medicine down, and they had to give it to her every two hours through the IV, and it wore off after about 1.5 hours.  We just switched to a different pain medication, one that lasts longer.  They are giving her an anti-nausea medication that is for chemotherapy patients, but it's not helping so we tried something else this morning.  Hopefully these changes will help.

The nurses here are so nice - she has her own nurse, and Eva just loves her.  You can see it on Eva's face:
My mom is coming to stay with her for a few hours so that I can go back to the house to sleep and see the boys.  I sat in a chair by her bed all night, so I'm tired.

The doctors are pleased with her progress - now it's a matter of getting the pain under control so that she can move out of the ICU and onto the main floor, probably by Saturday morning.
