Eva is awake!

Although the doctors told us that she would need the ventilator until tomorrow, she surprised us all by struggling to wake up, and by breathing on her own over the ventilator.  They took her off the ventilator, and she's on pain meds, and is a little groggy.  However, she's awake enough to be asking for food, and wanting to listen to music on the iPad.  She requested Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift.

She's just allowed to drink water right now, and it's tough for her because she gets scared when she's hungry - a residual effect 2 years of being hungry a lot.

One nurse said that she's responding 12-18 hours ahead of schedule, and they just are amazed by how well she's doing. I know it's from the prayers!

She told a nurse and doctor, "Thank you for fixing my heart."  She's my precious girl - and she has already charmed everyone in the ICU.

More tomorrow!
