Dr. Seuss Jammies and Fruit Loops
Eva is doing so much better this morning. She ate some Fruit Loops, and drank some more juice. She wanted to get up and go to the bathroom, so we got her out of bed and she walked about 10 steps!
She now has on her new Dr. Seuss jammies - she's so proud of how pretty they are.
I prayed for several hours off and on for the little baby in the room next door, who barely made it through the night. Our surgeons were called in at 2:00 am, and were here for the remainder of the night working on him. I went out into the hall to go to the bathroom, and on my way back saw the parents. I can't even imagine what they were going through. I am so very, very grateful that Eva's heart defect was (that feels so good to write was!) on the minor side. She's been through a lot, but there are many more complex issues, and we are blessed that her repair was straight-forward and went so well.
The boys are missing her terribly - Declan especially. He asked yesterday, "How is my Eva?" That says it all..."my Eva." He loves her so much. I haven't written much about their relationship yet - I'll save that for when Eva is better and these posts don't center on her so much.
Today we plan to get her out of bed again and try to walk in the hall and go for a short wagon ride. I'll post more pictures later.
