The Boys Are Back

A nice quiet day today - mostly just reading, computer time and picking up the boys from school.  We subscribe to a program called Dreambox for Eva and Declan - it's a math program that places them where their skill level is and progresses as the master the objectives.  The cool thing is that it's in the form of games that adapt to their skills.  Eva is progressing through it quickly - Declan needs a bit more encouragement but is moving along at his own pace.

My boys are home!  They've been staying with my parents while Christopher has been in Maryland so that I don't have to drag Eva out of the house to take them and pick them up from school.  It's feels so much better to have them with me again!

Thankfully my computer is all right, but I spilled Eva's flowers and it got soaked!  I dried it out and everything seems to be fine - phew!

At the hospital I discovered that Eva LOVES blocks - they had a nice set in the playroom. How did I not know that before?  I have a bin of blocks in the basement storage that my grandfather made for me, and a small set of colored blocks that used to be Brennen's, so I brought them upstairs and she built cities for an hour.

Tomorrow is going to be a tough - and sad - day for my parents.  Their cat, Niya, is old and sick and they are going to put her to sleep in the afternoon.  The really tough part about it is that she is my sister's cat, and my sister passed away about five years ago, so the kitty is a link to her.  Thoughts and prayers for them as they lose Niya are appreciated.

  1. Eva looks great! And so do the boys :-)
I'm glad all is doing well, and very sorry to hear about your folks kitty cat. It's so hard to lose a good friend, especially one that is so very special. They are in my prayers.
